How we use Science to Paint Your Car

Car painting is a tricky job and can lead to numerous paint defects if not done correctly. There are certain precautions that a professional undertakes to give a smooth and shiny finish to the car surface. Here are some measures that we take at our car body shop:

1) We use Oil-Free Air Compressors: If the air used for spray painting your vehicle is contaminated with oil, wax, grease or silicone, it can lead to a hideous coating defect known as the “fish-eye”. To avoid the settling of oil droplets on the substrate, we use oil free air compressors while painting your vehicle

2) We use Desiccant Air Dryers: The presence of moisture during spray painting can lead to repulsive “moisture blisters” on your car’s surface. Desiccant air dryers minimise the amount of moisture in compressed air, thereby leading to a smooth paint finish on the vehicle.

3) We have specialised Paint Booths: The painting on your vehicle is done inside specialised paint booths to avoid external contamination. Contamination introduced during the application or drying process can lead to “dirt inclusions” on your car surface.

4) We use High-Quality Paint Products: The usage of improper or low-grade paint products like hardeners or paints can cause defects like “color off-shade” and “clearcoat yellowing”. We use top grade products with optimum opacity and thickness to give your vehicle a clean finish.

5) We use HVLP Paint Guns: Incorrect spray pressure, viscosity or application technique can lead to texture defect known as “orange peel”. Our trained technicians use HVLP paint guns which atomize the paint faster and at a low pressure, thereby giving a smooth and even paint finish.
